Lockdown Morning Routine

Being someone who needs a routine to function I have spent the last few years building up various routines to follow. This helps me pretend my life is in some sort of order. I start with the attempt of waking up at 9.30 am each day under the pretence that I will workout. To be fair to myself I do tend to do an hour workout most days but sometimes sleep and my incredibly cosy bed just don’t want me to go.
Dippy Egg Breakfast

After the workout Aiden and I will eat breakfast together most days we’ll have something involving eggs; my current favourite is dippy egg and soldiers. After being a fussy eater most my life I started eating eggs about a year and a half ago and now I cannot get enough of an egg breakfast. Then it’s time to get ready for the day. I shower and wash my hair. My favourite shampoo at the minute is the Liz Earle Botanical Shine leaves my hair feels super clean and gives it a nice shine. Basically does exactly what it says on the label. Plus one of the main ingredients is aloe vera which is so good at looking after your hair. I’m also using a Sanctuary Spa body wash which has jojoba beads in it which is perfect at balancing the dryness and oiliness in skin. Then it’s my Vaseline cocoa butter body moisturisers turn to be used on slightly damp skin.

Homemade Storage Pots

My skin routine is pretty much the same all year round. I use the Lush 9 to 5 cleanser that’s packed full of almond oil which provides the skin with extra softness. Then my Lush Breath Of Fresh Air toner water to clean off my cleanser. I had always written off toners as pointless before using this one; I felt they made my skin oily but this one leaves me feeling clean and fresh. Then finally I use L’Oreal Hydra Genius moisturise. I can’t say enough how amazing this moisturiser is but I never use anything else. This one also has my favourite ingredient ever in it, aloe vera, great for reducing redness and healing the skin.

Finally Ready
I’ll do my hair and make up after picking out my clothes for the day. Most the time I will plait my hair in some way and keep it out of my face for the day; especially if I’m not doing much with my day. Make up tends to vary; especially while I’m in lockdown. Sometimes I’ll feel like going all out with bold eyeshadow but most days I’ll just shade my eyebrows in and wear a little bit of mascara.

After this I’m ready to sit on my bed and play animal crossing on my Nintendo switch all day. It’ll be weird when I can start work and will have to do all of this in just an hour before I leave the house again. Let me know how you spend your lockdown mornings!
